3 Hours Before Flight Time
Arrival day and meeting with your Tour Leader at Prishtina (PRN) international airport. They will answer questions, brief you on the immediate arrangements and then transport us to the Rugova mountain region for accommodation. Depending on the arrival time we’ll stop for a visit at city of Peja. Overnight at Chalet in Rugova mountain village.
Today we will visit White Drini natural park, located 11km north of the city of Peja. Our destination is the biggest waterfall in Kosovo and the region, White Drini spring and the magnificent Sleeping Beauty Cave – at 3650m long, it’s the second biggest cave in Kosovo, well known for 8 different species of bats living inside this magical cave. Appart from the visitor’s path we will also discover 4 more galleries further deep inside this cave with the help of our guides. After this adventure inside the cave we can relax and have a lunch at one of the restaurants located by the river, best known for trout fish specialties and traditional dishes. After lunch we will visit the 200 years old water mill run by many generations from the same family in Radaci village before returning to Rugova mountain village for a free evening. Overnight at Chalet. Easy activity cave trekking, lasts about 1h 30min, helmet, headlight and gloves provided.
After breakfast we’ll take a transport with 4×4 up to the starting point of this a must do hike when you are in Kosovo and start to hike towards the high mountain lakes. We will walk through a blueberry fields and open mountainous terrain towards mountain lakes at 2300m above sea level. We can spend some time at the lakes exploring the flora and fauna around the lake (there are lake salamanders and newts aplenty!), and there will also be time to swimm for those who wish to leap into the lake waters. Climb the top of Kosovo and back to Peja. Free evening. Hike duration: 6-7 hours. Level: moderate. +856m, -856m. Overnight at Chalet.
After breakfast we will drive up to Podi Jakupit field and start the mountain biking adventure towards Rusolia mountain reaching 2100m above sea level to have scenic and panoramic views of Bjeshkët e Nemuna national park or Accursed Mountains peaks, including the highest peak in Kosovo – Gjeravica (2656m). Continue through mostly downhill biking experience with a careful ride through Shtedim and Lipa village and up to Peja where we finish. Back with a transport to Rugova mountain guesthouse for a free evening. Overnight at Chalet. MTB tour 3-4h, 29 inch bike and safety helmet provided.
We start a short hike above the canyon at Mule Trail, and finishing this hike by longest Zip Line in the Balkans, 640m and up to 65km/h speed reaching, flying over Lumbardhi river. We will finish by the starting point for one of the Via Ferratas-Iron Road, where we climb over the iron stairs and secured on cables (not recommended for people who are afraid of heights) for a full adrenaline dose. Hike back down to the starting point and back to Chalet for a free evening.
On this day we will drive just above city of Peja, at Zatra hill where we can try some horse riding (limited number of horses 7-8) but also try our skills at rope climbing adventure park and high adrenaline the 30m high swing. Possible lunch here at the restaurant well known as a goat farm produce.
Walk down to the city of Peja for a free time, and later on back in Chalet for a free dinner and relax.
A day to explore Dukagjini plain region, starting from Deqani monastery-Unesco world heritage site, passing by Gjakova town, a boat tour at Drini canyon, Rahoveci wine route and wine tasting at Stonecastle winery-one of the biggest in the Balkans, and take in the sights of Prizren, with its diverse and fascinating history! Our favourite highlights are: a walk through an old city up to the Castle for the great views and optional visit to a silversmith’s workshop, where you can learn basic techniques in jewellery making from a family run business with decades of experience.
